Zakynthos is the southern and third biggest island belonging to group of islands in the Ionian sea.It covers an area of 405 square kilometres where slightly more than 38.000 inhabitants live and is located 300 km to the west from Athens with which it is daily connected with 45-minutes flights from El.Venizelos airport. In addition Zakynthos is 9.5 miles away from the coast of the Peloponnese (Kyllini port) daily accessible by a regular ferry service. It’s an island of immense contrasts of golden beaches and massive rocky coasts, benefits from a Mediterranean temperate climate with mild winters and cool summers. The very warm waters wash the coast favour a particularly long tourist season whice have made Zakynthos an attraction of worldwide extend especially because in the southern part of the island the caretta-caretta turtles breed and along the rocky western coasts the seals Monachus Monachus breed too. The golden beach of Shipwreck is one of the most famous beaches on the planet and a tourist trademark of Zakynthos and Greece. The island is full of colours, aromas, intense flavours, alternative landscapes, unique products, melodic sounds and above all , hospitable people.The local dishes are so delicious that will be a very pleasant surprise for your palate. It’s also the birthplace and muse of many great artists.
